Jessica Fiorentino in Little Al’s Artcore

How do you get the best performances out of your actors?

The actors have to feel comfortable and we try to shoot in the best weather conditions and locations. It is very important that there is very a very good work atmosphere between all the members of the team. More than anything it is important to talk with the actors before shooting the scene, to see which postures they think will be better, and to create a feeling between the couples that don’t know each other. Also it is important not to transmit to them the pressure that generally occurs on a production.

Spanish director Little Al is careful to emphasize that his movies are a collaborative effort. Everything from story conception to post production is a team effort - in fact he’s worked with the same crew of people for all of his vignettes and movies with Private. From his earliest vignette, Restricted Area, to his latest and greatest effort so far, Private Poker, Little Al and his team have consistently brought quality porno to the small screen.

I contacted Little Al recently to find out more about him on the eve of Private Poker’s release this December. The following is our interview.

Hi Little Al, does being Spanish influence the way you make porno?

I believe being Spanish influences one to look at life with what we call buen humor, to have a good sense of humour, and I think that sex and good sense of humour are symptoms of health. Spain is a country of strong colours, of beautiful women with mysterious dark eyes. When you walk along the streets you notice that the people are passionate, and you can feel the sexual tension wherever you are.
