What is the most difficult thing about shooting a porno movie?
The girls. There are always problems with girls!
Like?
They are young, 18 years old, come from the countryside. They want to party and things like that. You know.
How do you avoid problems?
I try not to be in a way to get a bad girl. I have my connections in the industry so I can be more secure beforehand. Also they always, always have to fuck in the afternoon.
To avoid hangovers?
Yes. It works well. These girls from small towns suddenly have all this money and they want to spend it. Parties, out at night. They don’t come to the set always like professionals, on time and things like that.
Any funny experiences while on set?
Every time there is something funny, every time. Like if you watch the behind the scenes from Scent of a Girl when Jade crashes the car.

Yeah, that sucks. I remember that!
I had to pay for that out of my pocket. Shooting porno must be funny, but today it is more and more like a factory and boring. It is only about money. On my shoots I always try to make an extra effort, I do things like have nice dinners for the actors, which I am not obliged to do.
Who are the best actresses to work with?
The ones who get pleasure! Rita Faltoyano. Yes Rita is incredible. I remember when she came to work with me, she came to fuck! She did not have sex for four days and when she came she was like a man, she was so excited. She wanted and she gave pleasure.
Also Silvia Saint. But she interiorized her pleasure more. I think because she is who she is, and also the way she interiorizes her pleasure, this is what makes her so attractive. Rita and Silvia are two different styles of girl.
Which actresses would you like to work with in the future?
Fresh girls. Girls who do this for their own pleasure. 90% of girls do this for money. They come to the set and when it is finished they go, like that. I have good contacts with big people who have been ten years in the business, like Keana my make-up artist. This helps a lot in finding good talent.

What about the rest of your crew?
I have the same crew for five years now and this is very helpful. Some of us, like my cook are more than fifty years old and this helps. Like I said, the girls are young and from the small towns, and they see these older guys and it is good, for support and to gain their confidence.

You must be sick of being asked about it, but how does it feel to be the inventor of a now-legendary porn pose, the “guckmal”?
I think I should have made a copyright. I would have been a billionaire by now. One thing I hate is how the Americans took the pose and changed the name – gape. It’s disgusting. Guckmal! Guckmal!
How do you convince girls to do the guckmal?
I don’t convince, just do it. Even the most beautiful girls will do it. You just have to do it.
What can fans expect from future Lecastel movies?
That depends on the producers. I have ideas for movies with lots of motorcycles, ideas for a movie shot on yachts. I have a friend who can get me a yacht and crew from the America Cup. But what the producers want now is more things like 18 Birthday Presents.
You just made Scent of a Girl, which is definitely a new kind of Lecastel movie, more feature.
That was an order basically from the producers. And I wanted to prove that I can do it. One thing, nowadays everybody is downloading movies everywhere. People are very aware of good quality movies and people want that. This is a trend towards that. Now on the internet it’s very dirty. People need to see grandmas and huge dildos to make an erection, but this will change. Scent of a Girl focuses on beautiful girls who like dirty sex.
Finally, Jean-Yves, you are highly-esteemed for your body of work. Tell us, what is the secret to your success?
I’m natural. I do what comes natural. If I have to burp, I burp. If I have to fuck, I fuck.
